Speaker: Brandi Hill, owner of Orchid Express, Houston, TX. Brandie will share expert advice on how to care for orchids. She will have items to sell if you want to purchase.

NEW THINGS THIS YEAR! We are very excited about all the new things this year. We have a fresh new look for our Monthly meeting announcement, our meeting room has a fresh new look, and there is a suggestion box for everyone’s ideas (both at the meeting and on our website).
Reminders:
1) Caladiums – Caladium folders will be given to each member after sign in at our first meeting. All
information will be in the handout and you can start your sales immediately. We had a very successful year and hope to sell even more this year. Pick up the “door hangers” to promote Caladium sales at the meeting. Any questions please contact Barbara Thompson or Annette Weston.
2) Brookwood Community outing is September 15th, 2022. Meet in the parking lot at the Recreation Center, 2701 Cypress Point Drive at 8 am. Please bring garden gloves and a drink to participate. Participants will enjoy a delicious lunch at 11:45 at the beautiful Brookwood Café followed by leisurely shopping in the incredible Gift and Garden Center. Sign up at Thursday's meeting, text Linda Fisher or sign up on our website. We will have a great time.
3) September craft workshop is around September 22nd where we need 10 volunteers to plant pansies in cups to put in the 50th anniversary gold buckets. Sign up with Gretchen at this week's meeting or sign up on our website.
4) Pick up your 2022-2023 Quail Valley Garden Club Year Book.
5) Friday, September 2nd, Meet at Jason’s Deli at 11 am for lunch (17275 Southwest Freeway, SL, TX). Then proceed to THE PAINTED TREE Boutique for a fun time of shopping. Please text Cynthia at 713-392-0564.
COMMUNITY NEEDS COMMITTEE:
Please bring any donations you may have to the QVGC regular meetings. This new committee will be responsible for the following organizations:
HUMAN NEEDS MINISTRY
FOOD BANK – Marilyne Malone will be our liaison to the East Fort Bend Human Needs and will collect donated items from the QVGC and take to the East Fort Bend Human Needs. Items that are always needed and requested are canned vegetables, fruit, meats, rice, pasta, peanut butter, beans, laundry detergent and toiletries.
WOMEN’S SHELTER
Jackie Walker is our liaison to the Women’s Shelter and will collect our donations at our QVGC monthly meeting and take them to the Women’s Shelter each month.
SWAP TABLE
Don’t forget to bring a cutting or two, a plant, pots, garden books or other garden items to add to our swap table. Everyone will have the opportunity to take something home to grow.
